Florence is a Diabetes Champion! She has lived with type 1 diabetes for 57 years. She had 4 children, worked part time as an LPN while raising her children. When she was diagnosed, she had a glass syringe that she had to boil to sterilize and often sharpened her needle with a fine grindstone. Today she is on an insulin pump and is fairly well regulated. She is now retired and loves to travel.
